The "Why" in What We Do
St. Luke’s Health Partners is committed to improving outcomes and the cost of care for Idahoans. To achieve these goals, we build meaningful partnerships with the dedicated professionals who provide healthcare to our communities, as well as government and commercial health plan organizations. Working together, we align the incentives for everyone to focus on the best outcomes for our members and help assure the most cost-effective delivery of care.
Achieving our vision will distinguish network participants by improving the quality and value of care to patients. This value will extend to employers and insurers, in addition to individual healthcare consumers. The network is committed to fostering stakeholder partnerships within the community and working with providers who are aligned with the network’s mission. The network will provide a business structure that enables providers to manage populations for an acuity adjusted budget.
Select Medical Network of Idaho, Inc. was established in 2002, by nine independent primary care clinics and their physician leaders. Later, Select Medical Network became a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Luke’s Health System. The network then expanded from a two-county footprint to encompass the greater portion of central and southwest Idaho. In 2014, Select Medical Network was renamed and is now doing business as St. Luke’s Health Partners.
St. Luke’s Health Partners is an integrated network of approximately 1,400 employed and independent healthcare providers. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Luke’s Health System, the only Idaho-based not-for-profit health system. St. Luke’s has seven hospitals, more than 150 clinics, and 14,000 employees.
St. Luke’s Health Partners engages in contracts involving shared accountability arrangements between the providers and partner payers. These arrangements exist in region 2 (see blue section on map) with Blue Cross of Idaho, Mountain Health CO-OP, PacificSource Health Plans, and SelectHealth.
In 2005, Select Medical Network worked with providers and hospitals to form the statewide network, Idaho Cooperative Health, doing business as BrightPath.
